Draft for the invite-only beta. Not yet reviewed by counsel.
1. The beta. LikeWise is an invite-only beta of a proprietary, patent-pending knowledge engine operated by David Barron ("we"). Access is personal to you, tied to your verified identity, and may be modified, suspended, or ended at any time. The service is provided as-is, without warranty; things will occasionally break, change, or be reset.
2. Confidentiality. The beta is confidential. You agree not to publish, demonstrate, or describe non-public aspects of LikeWise — including its relationship results, rankings, scores, interfaces, and behavior — outside the beta, and not to share screenshots, recordings, exports, or systematic descriptions of its output with anyone who is not a beta member, until we make the service publicly available or consent in writing. Feedback you give us may be used to improve the service without obligation.
3. Real identity. Accounts require your real name, address, and a phone number that can receive verification codes. One account per person, one person per account; no shared, automated, or anonymous accounts. We may remove accounts that misrepresent identity.
4. Acceptable use. No scraping, bulk extraction, systematic reconstruction of the underlying data or relationship structures, probing of the scoring system, automated querying, or resale of access or output. Exports (such as emailed research summaries) go only to your own verified email address and are for your personal use within the confidentiality terms above. Rate limits and usage auditing apply to every account.
5. Your content. Your lines of inquiry, saved trees, annotations, and notes are yours and are visible only to you (until you use a future sharing feature deliberately). We store and process them to operate the service — including generating summaries with third-party AI providers — and we analyze usage in aggregate to improve LikeWise. We don't sell your data.
6. Privacy. We collect your name, address, email, and phone number to verify that beta users are real, distinct people, and security/audit logs to protect the service. Phone numbers are used for verification codes only. We'll delete your account data on request when you leave the beta, except records we need for security or legal reasons.
7. Intellectual property. LikeWise, its engine, interfaces, and output formats are proprietary and patent-pending. No license is granted beyond the personal use these terms allow. "LikeWise" and the service's content remain our property; the third-party corpus texts remain their authors' under their own licenses.
8. Termination. You may leave at any time; we may suspend or end beta access at our discretion. Sections 2, 6, and 7 survive termination while the service remains non-public.
9. Changes. We may update these terms during the beta; material changes will be announced in the app, and continued use is acceptance.
